CH. Bel Monte Kovu de Godiva (ICCF, Rarities)
Kovu is the product of CH. Logan’s first litter (bred to GR CH Roma) Our thinking in doing this breeding was to put together two typical and tight bred dogs that would be a complete outcross from each other. We were counting on the elements of hybrid vigor coming into play in the offspring. The get would retain each of the parent’s strong points while improving on various aspects of the others weakness. It is very obvious that we succeeded in the first litter. Each member is large, sound, robust, possessing a strong character while being very typical.
Kovu has been very successful at an early age in the show ring. We managed to rack up 12 Puppy Best in show wins. In a limited number of shows
Kovu managed to champion in one weekend at the Rarities year end Supershow in October of 07 at the tender age of 7 months against major competition. He even managed to take the breed with many Champions participating. He later went on to win an adult RBIS under a Cane Corso breeder judge in addition to 2 JR Puppy Best in Shows.
In his first show as a special (@13 months) with over 30 Cane Corso competing Kovu split the weekend with half brother GR CH Bel Monte Romulus di Godiva each winning two Best of Breeds. Kovu went on the win a RBIS and a group 2. Judge Jim Deppen commented that “this is an amazing dog for 13 months old with undeniable breed type, a true stallion of the breed”
